LEARNING BEYOND

At RAISE-AP, we believe that learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Experiences beyond the classroom help students apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, develop confidence, and discover new interests. Whether through educational visits, outdoor learning, community projects, or enrichment activities, these opportunities inspire curiosity, teamwork, and independence. They also promote wellbeing, broaden cultural understanding, and help every student see the relevance of their learning in everyday life.

We value learning beyond the classroom and the enrichment in can offer:

We try to offer as many experiences as we can at RAISE-AP, and work in conjunction with parents and carers to offer guidance for interests our young people are showing.

Alongside these experiences, we also believe strongly in the importance of learning beyond the classroom with tasks to be conducted outside of our provision. This classical ‘homework’  plays an important role in supporting students’ learning and progress. It helps reinforce what has been taught in class, allowing our young people to practise key skills and deepen their understanding.

Regular learning beyond the classroom encourages independence, responsibility, and good study habits — skills that are essential for lifelong learning. It also provides a valuable link between home and school, giving parents and carers the opportunity to engage with and support their child’s education.

We look to parents and carers to support us in acknowledging the importance of learning beyond the classroom, and working in collaboration with us to have an emphasis on the importance of completion when it is set.
